The client wanted to learn more about a specific audience—UK adults between the ages of 18 and 64 who save £5,000 or more and do not regularly invest but are interested in doing so to work for them.The client was concerned with the barriers, behaviors, and knowledge gaps that these specific audience members may have in order to develop a plan to target and ultimately convert them to an investment audience.

A large segment of the UK consumer population have significant savings but remain on the sidelines in regard to their investment position. There is a need to understand this audience, and the client wanted to learn more about how they save their cash and what barriers are in front of them and what will drive them to begin.

Solution

Study of Savings Behavior and Investment Readiness

The focus of this study was to understand consumer savings behavior and investment readiness through a quantitative consumer study focusing on saving and investment behavior and evaluating the level of investment knowledge and confidence of respondents where we assessed the savings investor barriers and uncovered future investment intentions and what would potentially motivate savings investors to begin investing.
